Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Simply Creative Escapes wants everyone to be able to enjoy our online escape rooms. We are working to make our website and games accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies.
Our goal
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, motor, auditory, and cognitive differences. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continue to review and improve our experience.
What we do
- Use semantic HTML and meaningful labels so screen readers can describe the page.
- Support keyboard navigation for the main purchase and play flows.
- Aim for sufficient colour contrast, and avoid relying on colour alone to convey meaning (for example, roles and status are also labelled with text).
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative art is hidden from assistive tech.
- Design layouts that adapt to different screen sizes and support browser zoom.
Known limitations
Our games are real-time and timed, which can create challenges for some players. In particular, puzzles run against a countdown, and some coordinated puzzles ask several players to act within a short window. We are actively looking at ways to make these fairer for everyone. If a timed or coordinated element is a barrier for you, please contact us — we're happy to help you find a way to play (for example, playing solo at your own pace, or with a supportive group).
Playing with others
Because our games are hosted and shared by one person, a host can also assist players who need support — reading clues aloud, sharing a screen, or handling inputs on someone's behalf.
Need help or found a problem?
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, or need a reasonable accommodation to buy or play, please email escape@frenikadevon.com. Tell us the page or game, what happened, and the device, browser, and any assistive technology you use. We take this feedback seriously and will do our best to help and to fix the issue.
Ongoing work
We review accessibility as we add new games and features, and we welcome suggestions. This statement will be updated as our accessibility improves.
